Tram Tickets/Times & Routes

You can pay child fares on Metrolink trams until 31 August after your 16th birthday. If you pay child fares on Metrolink you must be able to prove your age. You can do this with an igo pass - see www.tfgm.com/igo for more information.

If you want to travel by tram, you've got to buy before you ride. There's no way to buy tickets onboard and you'll get landed with a penalty fare if you're caught.

Single & return tickets
You can buy single and return tickets from the ticket machines at all Metrolink stops. Tickets can only be used on the day you buy them and your journey must start within 90 minutes of the printed time on your ticket..

Metrolink tram day tickets
With a Metrolink Saver ticket, you can ride the Metrolink as many times as you like. Simply buy from the ticket machines on the day of travel and you're on your way. Visit the Metrolink website for the latest prices.

Metrolink Weekend Saver ticket

Season tickets for young travellers
A Metrolink child season tickets let you make as many journeys as you like between the two stops you choose. They can be bought for 7or 28 days, quarterly and annually.

You can buy 7 and 28 day tickets from Travelshops and local Paypoint outlets. Quarterly Season tickets are available from Travelshops and Metrolink Customer Services and annual tickets are available only from Metrolink Customer Services.

You must be a member of the Metrolink Travel Club before you can buy a season ticket. Membership is free and you can get an application from a Travelshop or download one from www.metrolink.co.uk.

Wayfarer
Wayfarer is your complete day-travel ticket. Simply scratch off the date that you travel and you’re ready to go.

You can travel throughout Greater Manchester, parts of Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Staffordshire, West Yorkshire and the Peak District. View Wayfarer page on the main Transport for Greater Manchester site for more details.

Child Wayfarer tickets can be used by anyone under 16 years and can be used on buses at any time and trains and Metrolink trams from 9.30am Mon-Fri and all day at weekends and bank holidays.

You can't buy Wayfarer tickets on board the bus, train or at Metrolink stops.
