Low Fares

Aged 16 or under?
Then you can travel for less on trains in Greater Manchester.

The easiest way to get cheaper fares is by travelling at off-peak times - Mon-Fri after 9.30am, and all day at weekends and bank holidays.

Under 16 but need to prove it?
We recommend you prove your age the easy way with our Under16 card. Download the application form or pick one up from a GMPTE Travelshop.

How much can I save?
If you travel on trains at peak times you can expect to pay almost half the standard adult fare.

Aged 16-19?
If you're aged between 16-19 and in full-time education you could be eligible for a Scholar's Permit. Use it to pay approximately half price for train and tram fares to and from college and just 70p for bus fares. Bargain.
Download a Scholar's permit application form or get one from a GMPTE Travelshop.
